The full squad travelled to Nailsworth to be met by Andy Hammond, Ludo Desvard and Cliff Jordan. Len continued his 100% record despite dropping a game to Ludo but the story of the night as far as Thornbury was concerned is the increasing confidence and ability shown by Lianne and Si. Lianne took Andy to 10 in two games and picked up another game win against Cliff whilst Si similarly won a game against the hard hitting Ludo. It is just a matter of time before both players win their first match in Div. 2. Si and Grampy won the doubles before the team bid a hasty farewell and sped to the Egypt Mill for a well earned pint. Here we were met by the pride of Essex in Stacy who despite laughing like an old witch quickly made clear she was raspberry rippled by two toe operations providing a rich source of banter all night. A thoroughly enjoyable evening all round.
