Preferring to drive through a grey and chilly Gloucestershire than lounge about with Lianne in Greece Len, Si and Grampy arrived at Wickwar's venue ready to further Team Rubbish's charge to the bottom of the league. Len kicked off in usual fashion, winning 3-1 against their strongest player Mike. Si took to the table and produced some incredible shots at times, winning his first league game of the season despite eventually going down 1-3. Grampy then followed with an absolutely dismal display losing 3-0. Idiot. Len won his remaining two matches 3-0 to retain his unbeaten start whist Si continued to play brilliantly at times though sadly not troubling the scoresheet. Grampy won one of his remaining two matches but was mis-firing badly throughout the night. Len and Si then lost the doubles which meant another 4-6 defeat. As the madam in charge of our all-important wine gums was slumped 2,000 miles away on a sun-lounger we blamed her for the result. We then popped down the road to the Plough where we persuaded the opposition to sit inside near the fire rather than in the delightfully lit seating area outside in the cold. This proved a wise move as a lame punch-up ensued within 10 minutes of arrival!
